TAIGA 11 - Douglas Quin "FATHOM" LP
Packaged in custom letterpress materials. 100 white / 300 clear / 600 black. Now avalible in our shop.
Douglas Quin’s Fathom brings together four extended underwater soundscapes—two each from the Arctic and Antarctic. The recordings have been gathered over a period of 15 years, capturing an extraordinary palette of sonic voices, events, spaces, and textures. To the human ear, these soundscapes are haunting and otherworldly; yet they are very much of this world—out of earreach. The tracks are minimally edited and are his first field recordings to be archived in vinyl. Included with the release is a sealed envelope containing an insert with specific locations, animals, and other elements heard, giving listeners the option to absorb sound with or without association. The envelope is printed with liner notes and comments from Dutch journalist and music critic René van Peer. Mastered by James Plotkin, cut direct to metal and pressed on 200 gram virgin-vinyl, Fathom comes packaged in custom letterpressed materials and is presented as a limited edition of 1000.

TAIGA 9 - MAP "Fever Dream" 2xLP is now available in our shop.
This three-sided double LP was cut direct to metal and pressed on 200g virgin vinyl, including a lacy D-side etching. It comes housed in an old-style Stoughton tip-on gatefold jacket designed by Minneapolis firm Loaf Nest. The jacket is printed in blinding full color on uncoated paper with cyan flooded pockets. Presented in a limited edition of 1000.
3 versions are available;
100 tri-color transparent cyan / opaque magenta / transparent yellow A/B x clear C/D (mailorder exclusive),
300 opaque cyan A/B x clear C/D (available from members of MAP and through our mailorder) and 600 black.

TAIGA 8 - Lotus Eaters "Mind Control for Infants" 2xLP is now available in our shop.
This ultra-deluxe double LP release was cut direct to metal and pressed on 200g virgin vinyl. It comes housed in an old-style Stoughton tip-on gatefold jacket wrapped in foil-stamped brown linen with an 8x8 inch offset print mounted on the front cover. Heavy duty printed innersleeves with flooded pockets are also included. Presented in a limited edition of 1000.
3 versions are available; 100 white/silver marble (taiga mailorder exclusive), 300 gold (only available through taiga mailorder and the members of Lotus Eaters) and 600 black. Please limit one per customer of the white/silver marble and gold versions.

TAIGA 7 - Eleh "Homage to the Sine Wave" LP is now available in our shop.
The first 100 copies include a screenprint designed by John Brien of Important Records. The prints are 3-color on 12x12 inch thick paper and are signed & numbered by John. They were printed by Neil Burke at Monoroid.
*The LPs including the print are slightly more expensive than the standard edition.
The new Sine Wave LP is the second in a series that began with Homage to the Square Wave, which was released almost exactly one year ago. Like Square Wave, this new LP comes housed in a 2-color letterpress jacket printed by Studio on Fire. They were printed flat on 160lb 100% post-consumer waste stock, die-cut, folded and glued resulting in a letterpressed jacket with a printed spine. The Sine Wave LP was pressed on 200g virgin vinyl that was mastered by James Plotkin, cut direct to metal and released in a hand-numbered edition of 500.

The custom letterpressed jackets are finished for the Eleh "Homage to the Square Wave" LP. They were printed by Studio on Fire right here in Minneapolis (www.studioonfire.com). The jackets were printed flat on a 100% post consumer waste stock and then die-cut, folded and glued resulting in a letterpressed jacket with a printed spine! Now we are just waiting for the vinyl to arrive. These will be available on or before 1 July 2008. There will be a post when this release is completed and at that point we will start taking orders.
